Gacked from
epicyclical.
Step One
- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Draco/Harry icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.
Step Two
- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.
You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
1) A cure for manic-depression, for my father, my brother, and if I am an unlucky girl before my 30, for me, and for the children I don't wanna have now 'cause of my fear to give them THAT gene.
2) A job. Something that would give me enough money to pat the rent, the bills, the groceries and the little extra for so-called hobbies. A PAID JOB, in fact. Not a win fight in french publishing industry.
3)Matthieu, THE BOY, in my bed. Or anywhere else he might want me.
4) A cure for (an amazing) writer’s block. Or something sharp and heavy to throw at my head to help it. Or a hammer (same purpose).
5) Talent. Genius. Divine Enlightment in powder (private joke). Anything writing-related of that kind.
6) Anything from my Amazon wish-list. Yes, she’s big and heavy : see what happens when one has a non paid-job ?
7) An MP3 thing to listen music in the metro. I don’t care for Ipod or famous fabulous things like this. I just wanna listen good music in the metro. Just once…
8) Another glimpse of City of Bones of Cassie Claire. I am her very unashamed number one fan.
9) Boning to make at least my 18th and 19th corsets and begin working on my polonaise and my summer crinoline dress.
10) The 6 to 8 meters of the perfect green velvet no fabric shop seems to have in France to make a really good reproduction of Eowyn’s green gown. Argh !!

Date: 2004-12-04 02:32 pm (UTC)From:Actually, my father was reavealed to be bipolar very late and his psy is still experimenting about the drugs to give to him. It's my mum who have to deal with it and she's exhausted all the time. And my brother had all the symptoms, but no-one could get him to go see a doctor.
I suppose it could only get better.
Thanks a lot for the support !
