I have made tons of pictures at the Bunka Gakuen museum yesterday (even if it was forbidden). I will try to post them as soon as I come back (given that my home internet connection is really bad this days). Happy ?
Some eyes candy to make you wait...

Who said you don't have the right to go see Rodin and Monet in Japanese museums ? After all, it's my country art history :))

Today I made museums : Japanese arts, Western Art, Old Tokyo (the shitamachi museum : I highly recommemded it. It's small, but has old traditionnal japanese house and shop reconstituted, it's awfully cute, and I had the chance, being the only westener there, to have an old lady from the staff -- the first english speaking japanese I have met so far -- making me a visit all for myself> \she was adorable, and very interesting)

I can't feel my feet anymore.

I have alredy taken 6 Gb of pictures :)

Leaving for Japan in a little less than 30 hours. I'm stressed to death : first time I take the plane, first time I travel alone, haven't travel in a foreign country in 12 years ! And I'm naturally stressed. I mean, I coined the concept ! Of course, I forgot to buy chewing gum for the plane, and tomorrow everything will be closed : it's a public holiday. Grumbl...

I'm supposed to leave for Japan in a little bit more than 2 weeks. My plane company is scandinavian. Meaning it has to make a stop in Copenhagen. And it will pass by North Pole to go to Japan.

Now... is there any chance this combination of elements is not going to backdraft like hell given there is a volcanic eruption preventing aiplanes from flying in Europe, given that it may last weeks, given that it's hapenning in a scandinavian country which is awfully close to North Pole (I'm naming you Iceland) ?? Well, I don't think so.

I dreamt of you Japan. I'm afraid you will stay a dream :((

I will answer to Kendra here, because, I'm sure it will interest others : she asked me if I was going to the Kyoto Costume Institute. First and unfortunately, you can't go to the KCI. The KCI is a costume collection not a museum. The only chance you have to see items from the collection is when they happen to do an exhibition, hosted in a friendly museum. And unfortunately for me, the "Luxury" exhibit they made recently is over. But I will certainly buy the catalog. And I will tell you if it's interesting.

On the other hand, not everything is lost. There is another GREAT costume museum in Japan. The Bunka Gakuen. Remember ? The one with the crappy website (works with Chrome tonight, you might give it a try) and the wonderful costumes.

Well they have a permanent exhibit that shall be cool, but they also have a special exhibit : 200 years of European Fashion !! I don't think I will have the right to take pictures, but I hope there will be a catalog. And you will hear from that too :)))))))

I'm going to Japan. If it was not obvious, now it is :) I'm leaving the 2 May, coming back the 11. And I'm going to send postcards.

Which lead me to this : [livejournal.com profile] green_martha, [livejournal.com profile] lady_darkstone, [livejournal.com profile] de_ravenne, [livejournal.com profile] fiofiorina, [livejournal.com profile] marcine, [livejournal.com profile] lordofhaladin, [livejournal.com profile] ashamanja_babu, [livejournal.com profile] johannaelisabet, [livejournal.com profile] justawench, you're all sure to recieve a card : Except that I don't have your addresses (either I didn't keep them --bad me-- or I'm not sure of what is written, and I don't want to make mistakes). Well I have I have martha's, and she will give me [livejournal.com profile] lady_darkstone's. But can the others, please, send it to me via email at hchobbes (at) yahoo (dot) fr . Thanks

Adding to that list [livejournal.com profile] demode because I've met her in Real Life. Send me your addess too, please.

10 persons, + 6 for the family and other friends : I decide I would send a max of 25 postcards : so the first 9 to comment can have their postcard too :)))))

EDIT : 4 comments remaining !
