I just watch the begining of Smallville 401 and laughed to tears to see what they have done of Paris in it :)) :
_ So, first, as everyone should now, the Eiffel Tower (the short one, you know, the one we only show to tourists, because the big one is to big to enter in the cadre of the camera) is right near the Rue de Bastille ('m not even sure there is a rue de Bastille), and, well, it's okay for me, I know Paris is a small town, and oh it's just 80% smaller than I though, but, it's ok, really (you have to cross nearly all Paris to go to Bastille when you're at the Tower :P )
_ there is french flags everywhere (when you know how much french are paranoïd not to expose to much -- if not not at all -- their flag by fear of being call chauvinists)
_ shoolgirls in uniform with the unforgettable berets and [cartables] so old the were probably already out of fashion at the time of my grand-parents (what happened during my sleep ? Uniforms ? We've been invaded by the United Kingdom ? Berets ? We have bloqued the time-turner on the 50s ? And why can't I meet little bitches in uniform in paris, too ?)
_ enormous signs to show he bakers (because, you know, we only eat bread, and drink café in cafés -- never at home : not enough posh)
_Forbes in french everywhere (because, hey, we're a retardated country, we don't have economical, or whatever Forbes really is, magazines of our own)
_ so much flowers that even I, who's not allergic, is on the way to be allergic
_ languid people that would probably even be out of place in saint-Tropez
_ and one doesn't know why, Vancouver most famous building in the background, that we probably move, piece by piece, to Paris to give it a less foreign look to north-americans, etc...
The only thing true ? Yes, boys whistle girls. Shame on all the french race for that !
Ah ! We so much do love the Hollywoodized view of France...
And about Loïs, she's so damn caricatural, but, well, all the characters of the show are. But, what the hell is it with her hairs ? She's so blond !!! Loïs Lane ??!!
You know what ? I'd rather have Terry Hatcher instead.
