I'm currently working on my 2008 unfinished 18th redingote. Putting some dark green ribon on the edges of the collars & the cuffs & the front. I will need to attach the front straps and make the hem. Unfortunately, none of the horifying constructions problems can I unwork, mainly the huge huge colladwidth that is nearly falling of my shoulders. I will need to wear a huge scarf to fill it and make forget that mistake. And the sleeves are too long : that too I can't undo, but I can live with it.

Also, I will need to make a waiscoat a little bit like this one, but not overlapping, to go underneath. And as I forgot everything 18th century except my corset by my parents', 500 km away, I will need to make new skirts and a new bumroll. All this, by the 18th. Yiiiiiikes !

Tant que tu as le corset, rien n'est perdu ! Et le gros fichu, pour Noël à Vaux ça me semble conseillé de toute façon ! Tschakka, tu peux le faire ! (et une tournure pour le 22 janvier, hein...)

Can you put a couple of pinch pleats or small darts in the back of the neckline to pull it all in a little? Not necessarily period, I know, but it might do the trick. And pin tuck the sleeves somewhere not obtrusive? In any event, I'm sure you will look marvelous, you always do!
