The pictures turned out in an horrible shitty shitty quality, don't know why Ô-o ... but this is how I will be dressed for the wedding. Of course, I'm not wearing my shift, my kerchief, and I forgot my petticoat in Paris (go me !!). And I'm not made of pretty yet.

Date: 2009-02-23 06:03 pm (UTC)From:Yes, this is the Past pattern's and it's a great one ! I highly recommand it. Unfortunately, I always forget to take constructions pics, especially since this time I made it very quickly. But I will eventually remade it, and this time take pictures :)
My mum will be very happy that you love her computer/sewing/collecting/library room :))) I wish my own apartment was as big and as pretty as that room...

Date: 2009-02-23 06:05 pm (UTC)From:The fit is all due to the perfect Past Pattern's pattern. I didn't even had to alter a millimeter of it to fit.

Date: 2009-02-24 02:01 pm (UTC)From:This pattern is a great addition to any project list : not only is it pretty, it's also a really simple and quick pattern. At first sight, the construction may look complicated, but when you're an accomplished period seamstress like all of us on LJ, it's super simple :)

Date: 2009-02-24 01:59 pm (UTC)From:I've always had a soft spot for the Directoire period, but like the Empore/regency, it doesent really fit my kind of figure... But now that I have found a dress in which I don't look and feel like an elephant, I think I will do more 1790s ;))

Date: 2009-02-24 03:33 pm (UTC)From:It's true that Empire Regecy can't be flattering if your not very slim, but I had made two Directoire dresses before and despite I loved them, they were not flattering and therefore not convincing for me. But that patten is perfect.

Date: 2009-02-24 04:30 pm (UTC)From:I am slim, but put me into a Regency dress, and I'll look just square(hips like a horse).
Give me Directoire anytime, but not Regency!
And to your dress - I love the fit of the sleeves! They are absolutely nice!

Date: 2009-02-24 06:24 pm (UTC)From:I love love LOVE the side view! Looks like a period cut-out silhouette! Love this period but I've only ever seen one costume online who got the same look. In pictures at the Jane Austen Festival in 2004? 2005? there's a lady in purple-pink silk who got the same perfect 1790s side view but a different pattern I think. The pictures were on S&S, I think Nehelenia posted them.
Your mother's apartment looks pretty fantastic too! Hope that doesn't sound rude, it wasn't intended to be.
