When nearly no internet connection leads to costuming

Yes it's all your fault, if I don't work on my costumes. I've had so few connection this week that I choose to pass the few time I had on internet on Ravelry (my bad), but also I work on my costumes.

First, I'm reconsidering going to that 18th exhibit lisotchka talked about. I was (and still is) afraid of the kind of "costumers" who might attend, but fioforina coming made it suddenly very interesting. I so want to meet her.

So I get out of the waiting line my striped polonaise (I begin it in november, but put it on the waiting line because of the two other deadlines I had : the 1928 and the ume dresses) : still a lot of work to do.

Second, I work on the ume dress (because now I have my ume fabric !) : I made step one and two of the fitting/modifying pattern :

Step one :
This the pattern I modify (pattern in the gallery)


Step one is the fitting of that basis. It doesn't matter that it doesn't close on the front, becquse that piece will be cut out, and partly replace by another one.


Step two ;
the pieces are heavily modified. But here, white on white, you can't really see it.

I would really like to meet you too- I will arrive in Paris on Friday night, check into my hotel and have the whole Saturday in Paris, on Sunday I shall return home.

I think the exhibition will be great fun, and I love fashion plates.

It's a due compliment : I love your costumes, and we seem to have similar tastes :: I'm in love with Jukundo and I could kill for a Katsudon (too bad you have problem with gluten). Where is the japanese restaurant you are talking about ?

as for museums, I recommand you the Christian Lacroix exhibit at the Arts decoratifs costume museum : it is not about CL but by CL. He presents some of his dresses compare to a hundred of historical garnments. It(s poorly displayed, but the pieces are fabulous.

It's in the 2ième - somewhere between Louvre and Opéra. I discovered it in 2001, when I was sketching and drawing myself through Paris.

@ exhibit on Saturday : I don't know what to do. We're staying with some good friends in Chaville for the week-end, so I'd feel bad about abandonning them ALL week-end. Besides, lady_darkstone is probably NOT coming on the 24th... *sad* But I want to finish the Avant-Garde dress and wear it and feel like a princess in it ! *grumblesponders*

Je voulais savoir si tu venais tjrs au vernissage de l'expo le 23 février?
Nous serons 7-8 personnes en costumes. Nous avons une salle à notre disposition à partir de 17h (5 avenue de l'Opéra) pour se changer et laisser nos vêtements.
Puis, tjrs dans cette salle, l'organisateur va présenter son expo...Et ensuite, l'expo au Palais Royal...

Oui je viens, je vais sans doute reprendre mon costume 1790, parce que je n'aurais pas le temps de finir la robe à l'anglaise. Enfin, je vais quand même essayer :)
