French TV

Oh ! French TV is going to be very interesting this year ! (Well it may only interest my french and belgian friends, but there're DVDs later...)

On France 2, there is going to be :
- Jeanne Poisson, marquise de Pompadour (18th century),
- A series of adaptation of tales and short stories of Maupassant (1870s-80s)

- On France 3,
- A new Guerre et Paix (regency)
- La Maison Dombais et fils after Dickens' Dombey and Son (1830s)
- L'avare (17th century)

None of them is on imdb yet, so no costumers names, but I saw a quick image of Dambais, and it looks good...

Oh I love Maupassant! I read a lot of his stories in my High School French classes. Too bad I dont get French tv here in the states. :(

I think there will be DVD one day, so if your DVD reader can read zone 2, and if you speak french...

Anyway, I will tell on my Lj if the shows are good and well costumed. But I don't know when they are.

Please tell us when you find out more about the Mme. de Pompadour series! I've just started studying her, and I was just wishing there were a movie or documentary about her life.
