Yesterday evening was our little 18th event. I didn't take much picture, and none of myself. fortunately, [livejournal.com profile] philcostumes did. He will post them on his LJ. In the meantime, just a teaser of the interestingly costumed people.

Julie "L'Aly", not on LJ, but we will bring her in. she wants an anglaise and a chemise-dress : she needs us to help her !

the man on the right : I didn't catch his name, and I haven't yet the adress of his blog, but he really is a passionnate of the Incroyables, and that I love. The other man was theatrically costumed, and except for the hat, I didn't find it interesting.

Other than that, we had one or two "I'm wearing a faux male riding coat, except I'm a female, and I have no idea what I'm doing, really, but don't tell me". And one of them keep bullying me with her snarky comments about those who don't know anything about fashion (she didn't included me, fortunately), when she was just keeping by the books she read, and didn't absolutely use her imagination. As if history, even that of costume, was such a rigide thing, set in the rock and all.... She kept telling me [livejournal.com profile] lisotchka had done exactly the same thing that was in Fashion : she didn't want to hear that a redingote has nothing to do with a caraco. And she didn't want to hear that the inspiration could come from a fashion plate. Freaky.
