If you forget my weight, the ashaming binding (I'm going to remake it, by hand, really, I promise !), the eyelets on the wrong side, and the surprising yellow stains on each seams (call me stupid, but I didn't know natural linen cord lose its color : either it's that or I've been had by my favorite seller. When you know that I lovingly handwashed my corset to avoid anything that could damage it...), I think that little piece of work is the most beautifull thing ever made in the north hemisphere :)
Actually, the corset didn't fit m well today : I put it wednesday, and I succeed in having a very flat back closure, I was very happy with the cording of my back. But today... I'm in the end of my period and the clime was very hot this morning when the pictures where token, and both warmth and f***ing female matters tends to inflate me ...
But it still had advantages : my breast wasn't that ushed up two days ago :)

And the first question of my (very admirative -- a rare moment between me and her) mother was : can't you find a way to use this skills to find a job ? Er... Mum... It's a h-o-b-b-y. You know, like collecting 19th century egg-cups like you or madly fancying Sean Bean while cording a seam like, er... me. A hobby.
I don't know why she didn't really get the thing about costume sewing being a quite simple & very common hobby... :)

The cording in the back is annoying, I definitely agree! When mine still had it, it was sometimes flat, sometimes not. But the corset worked fine regardless :)

Date: 2005-03-26 12:48 am (UTC)From:Whom do you say that ! I have behind me years of family members pretty talks about my passion for costumes to be turn to something "pratical", i.e. a carreer. And it was long before I even had the idea to really make costumes !...
Thanks for the corset. It would look greater if I was not that fat, but really, whith my "natural" breast (before I took weight) I would never even have enough flesh to fill the gussets :)))) So now, I have a least a gorgeous picture of plump breast. And a great icon !
The cording in the back is annoying, yes, but it's so beutifull, I can't even imagine putting boning instead. Anyway, I took so so much pleasure doing it that I'm going to make another one day, with a lot of decorative cording everywhere and bones in the back to avoid nasty wrinkles :)
You cannot imagine how much grateful I am for such a fabulous pattern.
