My friend Elisabeth, the one I knew at the publishing house, she lived for 7 years in USA, married for four years to an american, work for six year or so to "Politics and Prose" (a very famous washingtonian library, very serious, not the kind of place you find clandestines), and they never gave her the Green Card... She had a paper (I forget the name), that gave her the right to work, but she was still waiting for the card (6 years !!) : and after the World Trade Center, all demand for Green Cards were cancelled.
I don't undersatnd why they advertise so much their GC (it's also everywhere in the subway), when you know that nobody can have it !!
Anyhow, I don't want it, not now : what could I do with it NOW ? Maybe one day, but, honestly, I'm not sure it's worth the sweat.
