Looking at pictures of my old Robe à la Française, I see that I have to do an handful of alterations to make it more correct. And new pannier pockets too. I haven't seen all that until now.

Ah ! the glam of the newly finished project. Does it fade easily...

And I don't know about you, but I would almost rather make a whole new outfit than to have to go back and fix up one that is already "done".

But I am trying to be better about it. Right now I am fixing my 18th century corset....the under arm is too high and it is uncomfortable when I sit down. And I am actually enjoying doing the little project. Maybe this is the start of a new trend for me :~)

I know what you mean. I was cleaning my old room in my parents' house, and found a bunch of old projects from school which I remember as being much better than they really are! :O

I don't think there's anything wrong with "I will need to have." You could also just say "I will need" if you think the previous is too wordy.

Good luck with your changes! I've been altering a few of my garments, too. It's hard to get everything right the first time!
