Wow ! My last post was, what, a month ago ? I was so depressed about every thing and the other lately, I just didn't feel like posting or even sewing. Until this week, I haven't sew a stitch since mid-january. I thought about lots of costumes I want to make, theorized things, trieds patterns, but in the end I didn't do anything.

And then [livejournal.com profile] green_martha posted about her hat and I decided that it was time, at last, to make mine. Original Project was Mina's green hat from Dracula, which Martha very elegantly called the flower pot, and that I absolutely love to the end of the world. But after making half a dozen of patterns, I had to gave up : I just could find how to make it without it being stupid. Too big, too small, too high, too conic, too big crown,etc...

So I go after another typical ridiculous hat of the 1880s, and I remembered that the movie The barber of Siberia have 3 or 4 really fantastic fork-in-the-eyes hats.

Isn't this hat fantastically WEIRD ?

My own hat will be rather slavish to it, to the decoration, I can maybe even have a bird to put on it too. Dead birds on hats are OK, huh ?

The only problem is : will I EVER have the dare to get out with this on my head ?
