One can never emphazise enough the wonderful effect of socializing. I know it will certainly not help me to overcome what I'm going through, but it helps to have oasis of joy in the middle of all this grey.

And the best way to socialize is a costume event. The change was amazing. In the morning, I was a zombie, and after I arrive at the Castle of Vaux-le-Vicomte, where costumed people had a little unofficial meeting, after, I get dressed, I felt like I was seeing things again, I was not tired anymore, like I could understand the principle of being light and smiling again. And I also had one good huge laugh, and it was like I had the great burden that rested on my shoulders was falling to the earth and smashing away. Of course, the burden was back when I wake up today, but, I know again that there is light right here at the end of all of it.

So now, some PICTURES ! )

But I have good excuses !

It was a bad week for me : first I discovered something under my armpit, and the moment of the discovery was around midnight, I was tired, I freaked out, and already imagined cancer. In fact, it was only an infected khyste, but a really painfull one. It's gone now, because of good drugs, I hope it won't come back. I already had a khyste which acted that way.

Next, Monday, I litteraly faint in the bus. So romantic. And with 30 pair of eyes looking at me like I made an enormous faux-pas : wonderful. It was exceptionnally hot in Paris in Monday. In fact, maybe not really exceptionnally, but it felt that way to me. Which explains the fainting : I've already fainted several time because of important heat, but this is the first time I'm still feeling tired 3 days after it. Truth be told, I was younger, and slimmer, and my body recovered probably quicker.

Which led me to : It's probably smarter not to get into a corset or a stays to soon. I want to go to Vaux-Le-Vicomte, but I should not. I'm weighting the possibility, but really that would be stupid : what if I faint again in a pair a stays ? *shudders*

So no Vaux-le-Vicomte for me...

I recieve today some La Mode Illustrée that I bought on Ebay, and of course, because it's me, because this kind of thing always happened to me, one of them is not the good one. Wrong year. I could have let go if 1) this one was not still on sale on Ebay. Stupide seller... 2) it's one of this LMI which content is merely "What if we talk about chairs ?". Booooring.

Now I have to send it back, wait for the other one, bla bla bla. I don't have time and money to spend in all this sh*t.

On a most cheerfull side, I have a back up plan for Vault le Vicomte : as my dress-in-Think-in-Progress will be complicated (lot of pattern to improvise), I decided that I needed a quick back-up plan. and fortunately, while searching the stash, I found a lovely striped cotton fabric that I had forgotten, out of which I should be able to make the Pattern of Fashion 1780-90 Round Gown. It would make a lovely summer dress.
